5 Golden Reasons To Do Your Holiday Shopping In Naples

Naples holidayTired of slogging through the snow, sleet and rain to get your holiday shopping done? Had it with surly clerks who don’t know the meaning of customer service?

Come to sunny Naples, where we’ve put the fun back into gift shopping. Browse and buy in a wide range of malls and shopping districts, all of them offering (gasp) plenty of parking. We’ve come up with a least 5 reasons why you will enjoy doing your holiday shopping in Naples.

1. Fabulous Shopping Centers

Our Naples Florida Vacation Homes put you near some of the best shopping in Southwest Florida.

• The Waterside Shops bring the elegance to the shopping experience. Visit the Apple Store, Tiffany & Co., Williams-Sonoma, and many more. (Tip: Through Dec. 1, Brio’s “Uncork Your Thursday” brings you wines by the glass for $5.)

 • The Village on Venetian Bay is home to charming boutiques including Aegean Treasures, Teruzzi, and Rose de Paris & Provence. Special holiday activities include Saturday snow shows, the Dec. 12 Boat Parade, and Dec. 13 caroling.

• At the Mercato, you can shop at Sur La Table, Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, and dozens of other stores, including the brand-new Nordstrom Rack. Enjoy a Hanukkah celebration Nov. 27 or a holiday tree lighting Dec. 6.

 2. Unique Gifts from Naples

You can delight your friends in other parts of the country by sending them local gourmet gifts such as Norman Love chocolates, wines from The Naples Winery, and soaps, moisturizers, and scrubs from the award-winning Naples Soap Company (in Historic Tin City).

For many people, a visit to Naples isn’t complete without a trip to one of the two The Best of Everything stores. Graze among table after table of scarves, purses, bracelets, earrings, watches, rings, and necklaces. (We’re wild over their pendants.)

3. Boutique Shopping

On Fifth Avenue South and Third Street South you’ll find the perfect mix of boutique shopping, people watching, and dining. Check out The Wind in the Willows, Lovejoy Antiques, and (our fave) Back of the Bay Boutique (all on Fifth Avenue). Don’t miss the Four Winds Gallery, A Mano, and J. McLaughlin on Third Street.

4. Christmas Fairs

Christmas on Third, the holiday celebration on Third Street South, kicks off Nov. 25 with the lighting of the tree and a visit from Santa. The festival continues all week. By special arrangement, snow will fall on Naples twice on the evening on the 25th, and at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 26, 27, 29 and 30.

Over on Fifth Avenue South, the Christmas Walk and Tree Lighting Ceremony is Dec. 5, 5-9:30 p.m. Performances by local choral groups, dance troupes, and choirs, plus a visit from Santa. The annual Christmas Parade is Dec. 10, 6-8 p.m.; the special Holiday Evening sidewalk concert is Dec. 12, 6:30-9:30.
