Perfect weather and a Halloween event that’s fun for the whole family!
Instead of staying inside your comfortable vacation rental home this Halloween, take the family out to enjoy some family-fun Naples style.
Luckily the weather is still beautiful (that’s why you chose, Naples, right?) so there’s no need to bundle to kids up! The average daily high temperature in late October is 82 degrees. Low temperatures are almost always above 60 degrees. While early October sees some precipitation, it’s rare indeed when it rains at the end of October. That means it’s sure to be perfect weather for the Spooktacular!
On Friday October 31st, from 4:30pm to 9:30pm the 4th annual Spooktacular will take place on 5th Avenue South. This festival is perfect for the whole family as there are costume contests and events for kids, teens, adults, and even dogs!
Some of the activities will include kid’s crafts, live music, spooky movies on the large outdoor movie screen, and live animal exhibits. The kids costume contest starts around 6pm on the 800 block and you can register before the event or preregister online.
The adult costume contest starts at 8:45pm and you can also register online for that as well. Break out your pirate or favorite monster costume and try for the grand prize. Funny, scary, ironic, and heroic costumes are welcome. Just remember, it’s a family affair!
A favorite is the Pucci and Catana Pet Costume Contest. The luxury pet boutique sponsors this event and pets and their human companions show off their Halloween costumes for all to enjoy.
If you are a zombie that feels the need for speed, you can join in on the 1st Annual Zombie Dash. Participants will line up on the 800 block and dash to the 8th street intersection. Grab your apocalyptic clothes, put on some green and grey makeup and become one of the walking dead that gets to sprint for the finish line before shambling off to enjoy the rest of the festival.
After and during the festival there will be plenty of shopping and dining opportunities. Bring the while family and enjoy a Halloween with a festival that offers fun for the entire community. For more information visit the Spooktacular page at the 5th Avenue South site where you can sign up for all the events and contests.
