A Weekend Itinerary For Your Trip to Naples, Florida

Naples is a top vacation destination for people from all over the U.S. and around the world. But did you know that Naples is also a favorite vacation spot for people from the East Coast of Florida?
Just a 1-1/2- or 2-hour drive from Miami, Key West or Ft. Lauderdale, Naples offers a complete change of pace. It includes highly swimmable Gulf Coast beaches, Florida’s best golf courses, and a more relaxed lifestyle — truly the ideal place for a long, relaxing weekend.
When we started Naples Florida Vacation Homes we knew Naples was a top vacation choice for people from the Northeast, the Midwest, and from Europe. But we’ve been surprised by the number of families and couples from the Miami area looking to vacation in the Naples area. Naples has even been featured in Miami newspapers and websites as the perfect weekend getaway.

What To Do in Naples

There is no shortage of things to do in Naples, whether you’re looking for an active weekend of golf, fishing, swimming, and tennis or a leisurely few days spent sunning on the beach or relaxing poolside with a good book. We have a few recommendations for how to structure a great weekend getaway in Naples.

Casual Dinner

Leave the East Coast right after work on Thursday and zip across on I-75 to Naples. You’ll arrive in time to check in to your weekend vacation rental and enjoy a casual dinner at a restaurant like Randy’s Fishmarket Restaurant or Jack’s Bait Shack.

Check Out the Beaches

Spend your first day in Naples out on the golf course or check out the beaches. Work up a good appetite for an elegant dinner at one of Naples’ well-known steak houses or the acclaimed Capital Grille on Mercato Drive.

Tour Naples Many Attractions

Saturday is a great time to explore. Take to the water for sightseeing or fishing, or visit the Corkscrew Swamp or Clam Pass Beach and Park. After an active day, spend the late afternoon relaxing around the pool at your beach house or condo. Throw a steak on the grill, or order in a pizza. If you get your second wind, Naples is full of nightspots — from mellow jazz clubs to lively pubs like McCabe’s for partying. One of our favorites is the Blue Martini at the Mercato in Naples.

Leisurely Brunch

Make the most of your long weekend! Indulge in a fabulous Sunday brunch (our favorite spots include The Bay House and The Baleen). Then spend a lazy day at the beach or poolside. If you haven’t gone to the Naples Pier to enjoy the sunset, this evening is your chance to take part in this community ritual — and snap glorious photos to send to your friends.

Pre Departure Dip

Breakfast poolside, time for a quick dip in the pool, and then it’s time to pack and head back to the East Coast. Try the scenic route (Highway 41); you’ll be so relaxed that you won’t want to hurry!
